Ardeleana Notes
Summer 2010
Welcome to Ardeleana, an ensemble of musicians, singers and poets dedicated to fine performances of integrated chamber music, poetry and song. Ardeleana is the host ensemble for the Blue Bridge Festival. Founded in 1981, and a registered charity for over 20 years, Ardeleana is one of Canada's premiere performing ensembles. Listen and explore, and come to a concert!
What are we doing this summer?
We're getting material ready for next year, of course. Ardeleana is rehearsing intensively, writing repertoire, holding auditions, planning, and dreaming.
Gala CD
We've been preparing a CD of the music from the Blue Bridge Festival Gala 2010, recorded live on June 5 by Nick Morcenik. It sounds amazing! The community of musicians around the festival has come a long way in four years.
CD's will be available in mid - August for pick-up. The cost is $20 each. If you purchase 3 or more CD's the cost is reduced to $15.oo each. The CD will make a great gift.
Please send your order to info@bluebridgefestival.com.
Music on the CD:
Missa Sancta in E flat, Weber; Concerto Grosso, Ho; Serenade to Music, Vaughan Williams.
Jonathon's Storm
Our popular childeren's show, Melissa's Song, finally has company! Jonathon's Storm, a new musical story-theater piece by Brenda Muller will be premiered on Aug. 8th, 2 pm at the Strawhouse Gallery in McKellar, near Parry Sound. Enjoy an afternoon concert for the whole family, held in a beautiful hand-crafted straw-bale home and gallery. On display at the gallery is an exquisite photography exhibit by Joy Allen. For the green at heart - make sure you get a tour of a real straw bale house ( in fact there are two of them) while you are there.
Suggested Donation: $15, adults, $5, children

Teens Sing for Mother Earth
Brenda Muller and Ardeleana present Mother Gaia’s Song, a song by Brenda Muller. The full version of Mother Gaia's Song can be heard here. Originally written for the Climate Change Convention in Montreal a few years ago, it is once again a timely song...especially appropriate during COP15.
